Bamboo Gallery moves to new location in the Grace Bay area After more than 15 years in The Market Place, Bamboo Gallery is now located in the Caicos Café Plaza in Grace Bay. "Moving any business especially after so many years in the same location is never easy " explains gallery founder, Titus de Boer," however we felt that the time had come, where we simply had to be in the Grace Bay area in order to survive as a business". The new Bamboo Gallery opened its doors in Caicos Café Plaza on 1st May 2005. Conveniently located just next door to Maison Creole, the gallery has also altered its opening hours, which now are Mon-Fri, from 10 AM to 5 PM.
Virginie de Boer takes over management of Bamboo Gallery Following the appointment of her husband Titus as Vice President of Marketing of the Royal Reef Resort on North Caicos, Virginie de Boer took over as Managing Director of Bamboo Gallery on 01 June 2005. Virgnie, who has resided in Providenciales since 1995, brings with her a wealth of experience in the world of art and art promotion, having lived and worked in New York, Rome, Paris and Haiti, prior to coming to the Turks and Caicos Islands. Her interest in Caribbean especially Haitian art dates back to her arrival in the West Indies, when she was a child. Virgine, who is fluent in Italian and French is constantly on the lookout for new local talent and like Titus de Boer, has already organized art workshops for local youngsters at the Bamboo Gallery. Says Virginie: "Few experiences are as satisfying, than to launch a new artistic career and witness it succeed and grow. Over the years, we have launched dozens of careers native and expatriate in the Bamboo Gallery, and I think its true to say that we are still the foremost driving force behind the fine arts in the TCI "
